Cement Industries introduces Cap Gunung cement

-

KOTA KINABALU: Cement Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd has come up with its ‘Cap Gunung’ cement, a premium high early strength and superior performance cement.

Its executive director, Bahrul Razha Chuprat said that the Cap Gunung cement complies with the requirements of MS EN 197-1 CEM I 52,5N and complies with the requirements of CIDB Malaysia.

“If Sabah implements its new building code that requires building to be earthquake resistant, those in the construction industry can use this cement,” he said.

He added that they decided to introduce the stronger cement to provide their clientele with better service.

He also mentioned that since they were now testing the market to gauge the demand for the new product, they would be selling the Cap Gunung brand at the same price as their lower strength cement in the beginning.

“This is our marketing strat- egy because we are not the sole seller of cement in Sabah,” he said after holding a courtesy visit to the director of CIDB Malaysia, Rosmen Ag Hassan, yesterday.

At the same time, Bahrul also expressed that they were keen to sell cement to Palawan, Philippines when told that there was an interested buyer on the island.

He added that they were able to deliver 1.4 million tons per year but stressed that they sell only on cash term.

Meanwhile, Rosmen urged construction materials suppliers on the need to comply with the Fourth Schedule of their Act.

He added that failure to adhere may result in penalties between RM10,000 and RM500,000.
