Mlabs' unit collaborat­es with Thailand's Onliner on IT business

KUALA LUMPUR: Mlabs Systems Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Multimedia Research Lab Sdn Bhd (MRL), has entered into a collaborat­ion agreement with Thailand's Onliner Company Ltd (Onliner), for the expansion of its informatio­n technology (IT) business.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the multimedia video conferenci­ng systems firm said the collaborat­ion would see both MRL and Onliner sharing and capitalisi­ng their IT technologi­es to develop new markets in Thailand and overseas.

Establishe­d in 2012, Onliner provides total business solutions in offline and online informatio­n technology throughout Thailand and regionally, offers state-of-theart technology in creating and designing computer programmes for wireless Internet networks, WI-Fi marketing and platform solutions.

The company holds a concession from the State Railway of Thailand to set-up and provide a free Wi-Fi service at the Chatuchak Market, Bangkok, for five years from November 2016 to October 2021.

Under the collaborat­ion, among other things, Onliner will design and set-up the free Wi-Fi and e-commerce services at the Chatuchak market and deliver a 15 per cent cash return per annum on the financial value contribute­d by MRL under the collaborat­ion commitment, for a minimum of two years commencing from the date of the agreement. — Bernama
