FIVE years of rigorous study and hard work reaped its benefit for more than 400 graduates of MBBS and BDS programme of Melaka-Manipal Medical College (Manipal University) – MMMC.

The graduation ceremony of 2017 was held on 16th July 2017 at Dewan Seri Negeri, Melaka and officiated by Dr H S Ballal, the Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University.

The list of graduates includes mostly Malaysians students and also international students from Australia, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.

MMMC is certainly proud that through its affiliation with the top ranking Manipal University in India, it has produced more than 3400 medical graduates into the Malaysian healthcare system. MMMC, is highly regarded in the country as a provider of high quality medical professionals to the Malaysian health system.

In fact, MMMC’s reputation has spread far and wide with many of its alumni spread across the globe.

MMMC’s repute emanates from its drive towards excellence in the services provided to students. This has led to an enviable record of accomplishments.

MMMC offers two undergraduate programmes and a pre-university course. The College’s flagship programme – MBBS was established 20 years ago, at a time when the private medical schools in Malaysia were few. Both MBBS and BDS at MMMC are twinning programmes.

The students go to Manipal Campus, India for thorough groundwork in the Pre-Clinical studies (first phase). They return to Muar/ Melaka Campus to hone their clinical skills during the second phase of the programme.

MBBS students get trained at the General Hospital in Melaka, Muar, Jasin and Segamat during their clinical posting and also at the rural health clinics in and around Melaka.

Dentistry students do not have to venture that far except for their rural posting and clinical outreach programs. Most of the dental clinical training is completed at the dental clinic in Melaka campus. The Dental Clinic in the Faculty of Dentistry, comprehensively outfitted for various specialties in dentistry and with its affordable dental care, is a boon to the community around.
