Voting for opposition a waste of time — Maximus

-

KOTA MARUDU: Villagers in Matunggong have learned the hard way and are now paying a hefty price for voting the wrong party.

Electing the opposition has resulted in wasted opportunities for development and economic improvement for the people.

“The opposition can take pictures of field problems and spin in social media but cannot solve problems such as land surveying, road improvement, electricity supply, long house construction and many others.

“Voting for the opposition is a waste of time and opportunity,” said Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili during the meet the people session at Kampung Garau in Matunggong yesterday.

The Garau settlement is a housing development project to assist those affected by the construction of the Milau Water Supply Dam.

“Some of the basic infrastructure such as sewerage and drainage, require upgrading and it is being addressed by the government.

“What is required is cooperation between the government and rakyat to solve problems faced by rural people in particular,” said Maximus who is also Kota Marudu member of parliament.

Meanwhile, at the event, Maximus approved an allocation of RM16,000 for the upgrading of community hall and signboard in the village.
