LDP members urged to prepare well for polls

KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) chief publicity officer Albert Kok, J.P. urged the party members to be well-prepared for the 14th General Election (GE14) which is only six to seven months away.

He also called on members to keep abreast of the current political developmen­ts, as well as do their part in serving the rakyat.

Kok said Malaysia was currently facing a very challengin­g political environmen­t.

Since the inception of LDP 28 years ago, he said the party had gone through many challenges and gained invaluable experience­s in the process.

“We have proven to the Barisan Nasional (BN) LDP’s strength and capability through our political struggle for the last 28 years,” he said that when officiatin­g at the joint conference of LDP Tambunan, Liawan and Melalap divisions recently.

“We are ready to face any challenge anytime. And we hold firm to our principle to reflect the people’s voices and truths in problems,” Kok added.

The delegates of the three divisions have jointly passed two resolution­s, including to fully support LDP president Datuk Teo Chee Kang in requesting for two of the newly-created state seats, as well as to urge the government to ensure the Pan Borneo Highway will benefit Tenom, Keningau, Tambunan and its surroundin­g interior districts.
