Inland Revenue Board launches operation in Keningau
KENINGAU: The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) launched its state-level integrated operation named Ops Saji 3/2017 here yesterday.
The operation, involving 27 officers and staff of LHDN Keningau and its headquarters, were flagged off by State LHDN director Dr Sotimin Muhalip.
Sotimin said the operation would commence in Keningau district from today until August 25 and is a continuation of Ops Kutip 2/2017 that was conducted nationwide.
According to him, Ops Saji is aimed at raising the level of voluntary awareness and tax compliance among taxpayers besides assisting in enhancing tax collection in the state through the expansion of the tax base.
Sotimin called on all who are eligible to voluntarily appear in addition to identifying potential taxpayers.
“With the tagline ‘Hasil Your Feel Good Partner’, Ops Saji expects to change the perception of the public and taxpayers on LHDN tax administration system, which not only focuses on tax collection and legal compliance but to give the perception that it is customer friendly,” he said, adding that this would encourage taxpayers to be more transparent and willing to comply with the regulations and Malaysian tax laws.
Sotimin said Ops Saji involved all administrative areas of LHDN Keningau branch covering Keningau, Tenom, Kemabong, Tambunan, Sook and Nabawan areas.
Also present at the flagging off of Ops Saji was LHDN Keningau director Mohd Shahriz Ramli.
