Seminar on basic shipping guidelines for export
KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will be organising a seminar entitled ‘Basic Shipping Guidelines for Export’ on August 22 at TH Hotel here from 8.45 am to 1 pm.
The objectives of this seminar is to provide Malaysian exporters with the information and understanding on the shipping procedures and guidelines for exporting products besides identifying any security measures that need to be taken as well as the risks that will be encountered for product delivery.
Throughout the seminar, the participants will be briefed on Procedures and Guidelines for Exporting Products by Jabatan Kastam DiRaja Malaysia. DHL Malaysia will also be presenting on the topic of ‘The Basic Guidelines and Documentation for Exporting Products’. During the experience session, NCT Forwarding and Shipping Sdn Bhd will be sharing its experience in handling the process of shipping products.
At the end of the programme, participants should gain more knowledge and information on shipping requirements and documentation involve. This is important for exporters to make any decision on the best mode of shipment, Incoterms between seller and buyer, documentation and any legal issues. Besides that, Malaysian exporters also need to understand the differences of requirement in the different countries, routing and the best airport/seaport to ship to in order to reduce costs and transit time.
Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) President Datuk Michael Lui urged the business community especially those new to exporting and considering exporting to take this opportunity to enhance their knowledge on export techniques and planning by attending this seminar.
