-

MUMBAI: Jacqueline Fernandez, known for her flexibility, has ignored criticism of her pole dancing antics.

But she has yet to attempt daredevil stunts.

Said a defiant Jacqueline: “I love action. I have been a part of so many action films but I have never done any action myself! That’s frustrating.”

She has collaborated with almost every leading action star of her generation, from Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar to Varun Dhawan and John Abraham.

In her new release A Gentleman: Sundar, Susheel, Risky, Jacquelinbe gets to play out some heavy-duty stunts with the film’s hero Sidharth Malhotra.

Raved Jacqueline: “I enjoyed doing stunts in A Gentleman.I wielded a gun for the first time and bashed up guys, which was amazing! I am naturally inclined to do action because of my physique as well as my interest.

“While growing up I was quite a tomboy. My brother and I used to have wrestling matches. I have an inherent action streak. I did karate, taekwondo and kick boxing in summer camps.”

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s A Gentleman is billed as an action comedy and the film casts Jacqueline in a role she calls ‘not conventional’.

Disclosed jacqueline: “I play Kavya, who works in a nine-to-five job. She is not conventional. She is a risk taker and is dying to have some adventure in life.

“Her friend Gaurav is a boring, safe kind of dude and she keeps trying to push him to do exciting things. Everything changes when Kavya meets Rishi, who is really a crazy guy.”

Jacqueline has tried pole dancing in the Chandralekha number of A Gentleman.

Explained Jacqueline: “I wanted to do something different for the song and spice it up. So, I set out to learn pole dancing for the number. But after the very first day, I called up the directors and said told them I had had enough.

“It’s really difficult. I am glad, though, that I finally did it. Pole dancing does add a fun element to the song.”
