MAPIM Sabah plays role in preserving harmony — CM

-

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman said that the Malaysian Parents Consultative Association (MAPIM) plays an important part in establishing an active relationship between parents and the government, especially in the implementation of communitybased programmes.

I applaud the efforts and initiatives made by the national and state branch of MAPIM, which have always been very active in holding beneficial activities for the community.

Judging by their high level of spirit and commitment, I strongly believe that the visions and programmes conducted by MAPIM will continue to be successful, Musa said.

Musa speech was read by Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid at MAPIM¡¦s National and State Committee Dinner at Tang Dynasty Hotel last Tuesday.

Musa reiterated that MAPIM could also play a part in preserving social harmony as the young people of today were often tempted by more and more unhealthy activities.

MAPIM, an organization that comprises talented individuals of different backgrounds, had the ability and advantage to create new policies and programmes for the betterment of the country, Musa said.

This is very important as today we can see a lot of parents who are too busy with their work and other commitments that they could not afford the time to join associations such as the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

Thus, MAPIM can play a part in raising awareness of the importance of the role of parents for the benefit of the community as a whole, Musa said.

The event also saw Jainab presenting appointment certificates to the newlyappointed committee members of MAPIM Sabah.

Also present at the event were MAPIM national president Datuk Dr Hj Aziz Ujang and the newly-appointed MAPIM Sabah president cum MAPIM national assistant secretary general Hj Otoh Sibik Haji Sahak.
