KK Century Cycling Race November 19

KOTA KINABALU: The fifth Kota Kinabalu Century Cycling Race 2017 organized by the Cycling Associatio­n of Kota Kinabalu (CAKK) will be held on November 19 this year.

CAKK targets a participat­ion of 600 cyclists this year.

The race has received sponsorshi­p from WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong, who has been the core sponsor since the first Kota Kinabalu Century Cycling Race was held in 2013.

In a courtesy call to Wong, CAKK president Eric Ye expressed his gratitude to the kind support by Wong all these years, who is also the honorary member of the associatio­n.

Wong said apart from promoting a healthy lifestyle, the race itself has high potential to become an internatio­nal sport event to attract foreign cyclists to Kota Kinabalu.

Also present at the courtesy call were CAKK vice president Gilbert Wong, secretary Patrick Wong and committee member Chang Chiew Hien.

Besides local and West Malaysian cyclists who registered for the fifth Kota Kinabalu Century Cycling Race 2017, the organizer has also received participat­ion from China, Japan, Thailand and Brunei cyclists as well.

The event is also supported by the Sabah Tourism Board, Kota Kinabalu City Hall, Tuaran District Council, Sabah State Cycling Associatio­n and Royal Malaysian Police.

Registrati­on fee for nonmembers is RM170 while CAKK members enjoy a special rate at RM120 per person.

All participan­ts will receive limited free jerseys and finisher medals, while lots of attractive lucky draw prizes are available including Road Bike and Mountain Bike.

The categories and cash prize for the winner of the fifth Kota Kinabalu Century Cycling Race 2017 are:

(1) Road Men Open Elite (120KM): RM1000 (1st Prize), RM800 (2nd Prize), RM300 (3rd Prize), RM150 (4th Prize) & RM100 (5th Prize);

(2) Road Men Veteran 40 & Above (120KM):RM1000 (1st Prize), RM800 (2nd Prize), RM300 (3rd Prize), RM150 (4th Prize) & RM100 (5th Prize);

(3) Road Women Open (120KM): RM800 (1st Prize), RM600 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize);

(4) Road Junior Boys 13-18 Years Old (95KM):RM500 (1st Prize), RM300 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize);

(5) MTB Men Open Elite (95KM):RM800 (1st Prize), RM600 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize);

(6) MTB Men Veteran 40 & Above (95KM):RM500 (1st Prize), RM300 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize);

(7) MTB Women Open (75KM): RM500 (1st Prize), RM300 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize);

(8) MTB Junior Boys 13-18 Years Old (75KM):RM500 (1st Prize), RM300 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize);

(9) MTB Women Veteran 40 & Above (50KM):RM500 (1st Prize), RM300 (2nd Prize), RM200 (3rd Prize), RM100 (4th Prize) & RM50 (5th Prize).
