Sabah cosmetics manufacturer join FSI
KOTA KINABALU: A delegation from the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) paid a courtesy call on Sabah’s very own cosmetics and toiletries manufacturer, Borneo Rich Supplies, located at SIRIM Sabah in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), Telipok on October 12.
They were met by Borneo Rich Supplies owner, Jacqueline Vincent, a Masters of Science degree in Biodiversity Advancement and a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Industrial Chemistry from UMS, who is the formulator of her cosmetics brand, Adamia Cosmetics.
When asked what Adamia meant, Jacqueline smiled and proudly disclosed that the name was coined from her children’s names.
Under Adamia Cosmetics is a wide range of quality products for face, skin, hair and body care, which is also widely shown on Facebook under Adamia Cosmetics and Borneo Rich Supplies.
FSI has been an advocate of Buy Sabah-made Product Campaign, in support of the call by the Ministry of Industrial Development. With Borneo Rich Supplies signing on as a new member today, FSI hopes that more SMEs will follow suit.
FSI president, Datuk Mohd Basri Abd Gafar, said, FSI provides opportunities for SMEs to network and promote their products both locally and overseas through various platforms, such as exhibitions, warehouse sales, trade and investment missions, and participation in various other events.
FSI current members number about 200 manufacturers and traders in a variety of products related to plastic and paper packaging, auto and auto-parts, electronic products, food and beverages (F& B), Oil and Gas (O& G), construction and steel products, furniture, heavy equipment and machineries, logistics, events management, training and education, property development and professional legal services.
There are raw materials, products and services that can be supplied by members of FSI without having to source from overseas or Peninsular Malaysia, thus saving time and cost of transportation.
Mohd Basri added that this year, FSI is waiving the entrance fee for membership application and the waiver period ends in December. He therefore encourages SME wishing to come on board to do so before the year ends.
