PBS Kemabong’s performance will help BN win more support — Radin

-

TENOM: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) vice-president Datuk Seri Panglima Radin Malleh said the good performance of PBS Kemabong will help Barisan Nasional (BN) gain more support in the 14th general election.

He said PBS’ cooperation with other BN component parties in Kemabong should be further strengthened to ensure BN’s victory and the success of government development programs in the area.

“The people of Kemabong are lucky because the people’s representative in the area, Datuk Rubin Balang has always brought up development issues such as roads, electricity and water supply to the government, especially during the state assembly sitting.

“Hence, PBS members in the area should always be patient, cooperate and not be easily discouraged when facing certain challenges and constraints for the sake of the party in the area.

“I appreciate the cooperation and loyalty of PBS members in Kemabong to strengthen the party’s struggle in the area,” he said in his speech at the closing of the PBS Kemabong Division annual general meeting held at Padas View Resort Chinta Mata Kemabong here.

Radin, who is also Rural Development Minister, urged PBS members to always engage in and practise the goals of the party’s struggle.

He said during the party’s annual general meeting, party members would have expressed their pledge of loyalty to the party’s struggle including to always respect and abide by the leadership of PBS.

The question, he said, is it obeyed and practised by party members? On the contrary they see the principles of the party’s struggle being violated by party members, thus affecting the unity of party members and stability.

“If we want to be a good leader, we must be loyal followers in the leadership and adhere to the goals of the party’s struggle,” he said.

Radin reminded party members of the cause of PBS’ fall previously not only from external pressures, but also from the disintegration of its leaders and explained the challenges of restoring PBS, including re-joining BN in 2002.

According to him, the BN government’s policies for the multiracial people are also in line with PBS’ struggle and as a component of the BN, it can help its members and people in those areas.

“Party members should be proud of the consistent PBS struggle which has never wavered to defend the multiracial people and Sabah’s interests in the Federation of Malaysia.

“The multi-racial and multireligious party membership proves that its struggle is still relevant in local politics where this situation can be seen by the presence of multi-racial party members at the party’s annual general meeting held every year,” he said.

Also present at the ceremony were PBS Kemabong Division head Sarbini Ansumor and PBS Youth leader Martin Johanis.
