Pang installed as ISM Rotaract Club president
TAWAU: Pang Yi Lok has been installed as the third president of the Institute of Science and Management (ISM) Rotaract Club during the annual installation ceremony recently.
Rotary District 3310 Assistant District Governor Alexander Chok, Vice President of Tawau Tanjung Rotary Club, Jimmy Lim, members of the Board of TawauTanjung Rotary Club, ISM Board of Governors, lecturers, and members of ISM Rotaract Club attended the event.
Jimmy Lim officiated the installation of Pang and his committee for the year 2017/2018.
The installation marked the procession and investiture of the official powers and responsibilities of the Rotaract Club to its new president and the committee.
“The Rotaract Club strives to foster friendships, promote equality and encourage tolerance and respect for people of all races, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds.
“The purpose of having this club is to provide an opportunity for young people to enhance their knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, in order for them to address the social needs of the community,” Pang said in his speech.
Pang said the club had planned a string of events for the whole year to encourage the ISM students take part in cycle campaigns, community services, motivational talks and the likes.
A dance performance by a talented kid trio and unplugged singings by the students were inserted throughout the event to enliven it.
The guest of honour, Alexander Chok, gave an inspirational and motivational speech to all the members.
He then presented gifts to the lucky draw winners. The eventful night ended with a photo session.
Rotary Club of Tawau Tanjung’s immense support and sponsorship has made this year’s installation a success.
It is hoped that in the future there will be more collaborations forged between ISM Rotaract Club and Tawau Tanjung Rotary Club.
