Dealer opens Sabah’s first Mitsubishi 4S Centre
Sebangga Dunia, the authorized dealer of Mitsubishi Motors, celebrated the opening of Sabah’s first 4S Centre (Sales, Service, Spare Parts and Spray) here yesterday together with Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia.
The 4S Centre is located at Mile 7, Jalan Putatan with a built-up area of close to 12,000 square feet.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, who was the guest of honour for the event, said the one-stop centre would provide much convenience to vehicle owners.
He said the company has invested substantially to expand its services since venturing into Sabah and Labuan two years ago.
Not only that, Masidi said the company has also invested in the human capital development in Sabah by training more locals to work in the automotive industry.
He said Sebangga Group has realized the shortcoming in the automotive industry, that our locals were not properly trained.
“This company is providing an opportunity for Sabahans to be trained so that they can join the workforce in the automotive industry,” he said, adding that locals should seize the training opportunities.
Sebangga Group is an automotive division of AA Capital Group of Companies that concentrates on a variety of businesses ranging from engineering and construction to financial services. Sebangga Group started their maiden automotive showroom at Labuan in October 2015. In the following month the company entered Kota Kinabalu and expanded their journey across East Malaysia. At present, Sebangga Group has a total of seven automotive showrooms including one in Kuching, Sarawak for the Subaru, Chevrolet and Mitsubishi Motors brands.
Meanwhile, Sebangga Group chairman Dato’ Arif Ambrose Leonard Ng said the company wanted to offer another good automotive brand to Sabahan consumers by opening the Mitsubishi 4S Centre.
“We are trying to build up the Mitsubishi brand by setting up the 4S centre.”
He said the centre would provide genuine Mitsubishi spare parts to vehicle owners living in the outskirts and even workshop operators.
On another note, Arif said 95 per cent of the company’s staff here are Sabahans.
“We send our staff for training and they bring back their technical expertise to the State.”
He said the trained technicians were subsequently sent to the outskirts to train other employees.
“This is a good way to bring up the technical specialization in the automotive industry, as well as provide employment for the local people,” Arif said.
In conjunction with the grand opening of the 4S Centre, Sebangga Group also took the opportunity to introduce the newly-launched Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 4WD, sevenseater SUV. The Outlander SUV boasts outstanding safety and space for family, and the move to locally assembly the new 2.0L variant makes the SUV more affordable for Malaysians.
The Outlander, the most affordable SUV in its class, was launched in Malaysia in April last year as a completely built up (CBU) import from Japan. The new locally-assembled Outlander 2.0L 4WD variant will be sold alongside the CBU 2.4L 4WD.
Also present at the event were Sebangga Group chief executive officer Syahrin Masri and Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia chief executive officer Tomoyuki Shinnishi.
