Women entrepreneurs take part in bread-making workshop

-

KENINGAU: Sixty women entrepreneurs took part in a two-day bread making workshop at Kampung Tanah Merah Pamalan here recently.

The workshop was officiated by Upko Supreme Council member Haji Suip Saniman who told the participants to take advantage of all the skills and expertise they learned to improve their business.

He said that although they were good in making biscuits and bread that were favoured by customers, they need to be smart to search for the market by using the latest technology.

“The online market is very effective in promoting their products and at the same time they can also deliver directly to their customers’ homes or workplaces,” he said.

He believes through this online business they can enhance and expand their businesses as well as gain profits.

Suip said that entrepreneurs who wanted to succeed in business needed to be committed, confident and not easily discouraged.

“They need to work hard and at the same time use all the abilities that they have.”

“I also recommend that more of our youths, especially female school leavers to venture into business that can generate lucrative income.

“I believe that not many bumiputeras are involved in bread-making business and I hope this workshop will create more opportunities and competition for entrepreneurs in bread production to help boost the economy of their families,” he said.

According to him, some of the participants are college and university graduates.

The workshop was conducted by Nang Enterprise as the facilitator.
