Ark Publications education roadshow in Sabah next month
KOTA KINABALU: More than half a million students will be leaving school after completing their SPM and STPM by December 2017.
A few students may know what they exactly want to do next. Many would leave school without knowing what to do. Some will follow their friends. Some will leave it to their elders. Some will be influenced by the media.
It is a great pity because after spending more than 12 years in school, they are still unable to plan their future career.
The career they choose today will determine the lifestyle they will lead tomorrow. If they choose to be a teacher today, they will be working in a school, teaching students. They will have to manage about 40 students in the class. If they decide to be a pilot today, they will be flying all over the world tomorrow. They will spend more time outdoor than with their family.
That is why, career planning is called life planning. You can choose the lifestyle you prefer.
To help students plan their future career, Ark Publications will be organizing an education roadshow in Sabah in December. Students will be able to take a free career test to know their strengths and weaknesses. They will learn what they are interested in and what they need to avoid.
Once they discover themselves, they will learn to match the working environment that best suits them. They will also learn the careers in that environment.
A free career talk on how to choose a career will also be held for students at all venues. Students who are looking for scholarship and education loan can also attend. Teachers, working adults and parents can also attend.
Students who have decided on a particular course, can also get first-hand information from colleges and universities at the education fair. Information such as duration of course, tuition fees, entry qualifications, etc can be obtained from participating colleges which include Segi College Sarawak, Perdana University, Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College, Manipal International University, Aimst University, Cyberlynx International College, University Malaysia Computer Science & Technology, DRBHICOM University, Laxamana College Brunei, Global School of Technology & Management Singapore, SDH Institute Singapore and JL Institution Singapore.
Ark’s Malaysian Education Fair Roadshow 2017 will be held at MB Hotel , Tawau on Dec 5, Hotel Sandakan, Sandakan on Dec 6 and Promenade Hotel, Kota Kinabalu on Dec 7.
