According to Wang, who is also a WSKO first class examiner and instructor, the topics of the seminar/workshop focused on the basics and spirit of Shorinji Kempo.
He said the Japanese trainers that conducted the programme were led by Sensei Masanori Nagata, seihansi 8th dan. He was assisted by Sensei Shogo Fuji (seihansi 7th dan), Sensei Shoji Arai (Jyunhansi 6th dan), Sensei Akira Kato (Daikenshi 5th dan), Sensei Rina Ozawa (seikenshi 4th dan) and Sensei Ikue Takahashi (seikenshi 4th dan).
“All senior instructors from SSKA went through the hours of drills in training and theories in class seminar,” Wang said.
Meanwhile, according to the SSKA and MSKF secretary-general Sensei Mascentius James, the seminar/workshop was not only beneficial for all to gain knowledge and experience but this time around the association managed to save on cost as it was organised in Malaysia.
“And SSKA are lucky as the seminar/workshop coincide with the Japanese Budo Demonstration that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Japan,” he said.
The Japanese Budo showcased nine modern budo arts and three Kobudo (old style) arts and Shorinji Kempo was one of the modern budos that was demonstrated at the Panasonic National Sports Complex in Shah Alam.
