100 Sepanggar houses given RM10,000 repair aid each

-

KOTA KINABALU: One hundred house owners in the Sepanggar parliamentary constituency received home repair and improvement aid of RM10,000 per house.

Sepanggar is among 12 parliamentary constituencies which received the allocation being provided by the Sabah State Development Office (PPNS).

Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid said the recipients were house owners who had registered under the ekasih program.

“We filter these beneficiaries through the list of names registered with e-love program as well as those who are categorized as hardcore poor.

“We know there are still many who may need this help but in the meantime, we give those who are in dire need of the assistance.

“There are also those who receive monthly welfare assistance and this is a form of assistance to alleviate their burdens,” she said when met by the media at the inaugural launch of the Home Improvement Program under the Touch Point Program at Kampung Rampayan, Manggatal near here, yesterday.

The repair and improvement works are carried out the villagers under the Gotong Royong concept.

Meanwhile, the repair works on the houses selected in Sepanggar are expected to be completed by the end of this month.
