Sandakan hotel’s Charity Christmas Tree is back

-

SANDAKAN: The Four Points by Sheraton Hotel here will have ‘a peaceful musical Christmas’ on December 8.

Its general manager, Peter Padman said it was indeed the time to give to the needy, and the hotel is back again with its Charity Christmas Tree.

“Be mesmerized as the tree is lit this 8 December at 6:45pm at the hotel Lobby Lounge while carols will be rendered by candlelight. The hotel, known for its charitable gestures, will continue and end the year with this charity drive where donations will be contributed to the less fortunate patients at the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan.

“The public’s kind and generous contribution will be in the form of messages that will be written on cards that you could purchase at RM10,” Peter said.

He informed the media that since it was a time of giving, the hotel would not be splurging on renowned celebrities as there are so many up and coming individuals with extremely powerful voices, musical talents and who are as entertaining as our popular singers but have not had the opportunity to be exposed to Sabah or Sandakan in particular.

The chairman of the decoration committee Maxwell Reo Micky said the team would be decorating the public areas and dining venues to blend with the musical theme. He added that the entire workforce is all geared up to do their best to complete the decorations in 48 hours from the night of December 3.

On the evening of December 8, regulars and invited guests will be treated to the elegant, fun loving and entertaining Deepa Liza George who hails from Kuala Lumpur. Deepa is an HR practitioner by day, who enjoys music with the piano being her instrument of choice.

“She has performed as part of a band with her previous organization at a few Asean corporate events, had a two-day showcase at Bobo’s Piano Bar in KL and had the honour to perform at a private event with royal family members in attendance.

“She now incorporates music into HR elements by conducting entertaining, i.e. entertainment in employee development programs. The genre of music one can expect from Deepa’s repertoire ranges from classics to current pop favourites.

“Right after the Lighting Ceremony, Deepa will continue to perform at The Best Brew from 10pm, and rest assured, you will be in for a marvellous treat -- what more could one ask for this Christmas,” Peter added.
