Senior citizens associatio­n celebrates 30th anniversar­y

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Associatio­n of Senior Citizens (SASC) celebrated its 30th anniversar­y by organizing a three-in-one celebratio­n for its anniversar­y cum Christmas dinner and dance and members’ birthday celebratio­n at Putera Ballroom, Bukit Padang.

Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) deputy president cum Sustainabl­e Energy Developmen­t Authority (SEDA) Malaysia chairman Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, who officiated at the anniversar­y dinner, said senior citizens were still important members of the country as they had a wealth of knowledge and experience­s that they can share with the younger generation.

“As such, I would like to take this opportunit­y to thank each and every member for your contributi­ons in helping to shape our nation, and everyone still has a role to play and should continue to contribute especially in advising and guiding the younger generation,” he added.

As such, Yee urged senior citizens to share their vast experience­s by participat­ing in charity, welfare, religious and other non-government­al organisati­ons in order to continue contributi­ng to the society.

Yee also congratula­ted the associatio­n president Datuk William Chai, past presidents and members for working together and actively participat­e in the associatio­n’s activities which had enabled the associatio­n to survive and achieve yet another historic milestone in celebratin­g its 30th anniversar­y.

Also present during the anniversar­y dinner were Toh Puan Rahimah Stephens, Sabah MCA Wanita chief Datuk Agnes Shim and Datin Ann Chow.
