Rafizi admits mistake on Rahman’s ‘brother’

-

PETALING JAYA: Rafizi Ramli has made a reversal on his claims that an appointed contractor for Expo Negaraku was Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan’s brother.

The backtrack was reported on online news portal The Malaysian Insight on Monday (Dec 11) where the Pandan MP had admitted that he made a mistake.

Rafizi had earlier said that PICO Integrated Exhibits (M) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Raslan Dahlan was Abdul Rahman’s brother.

Rafizi, when contacted, said: “Because they (Malaysian Insight) were there throughout the press conference”.

Rafizi earlier gave a press conference claiming that a million-ringgit contract was awarded to an event management company without open tender.

He claimed he had proof that the CEO of the company, Raslan, was the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department’s brother.

“Come tomorrow (to the press conference) and you can ask anything,” Rafizi said.

Attempts to contact Abdul Rahman were futile, although his press secretary said the Kota Belud MP will respond to Rafizi on Tuesday (Dec 12) morning.

Abdul Rahman had refuted claims made by Rafizi that he had appointed his brother as the contractor for Expo Negaraku.

He also said that he would speak with his lawyer to discuss legal action against Rafizi.

The expo is a month-long event which started on Nov 15.

It is handled by the Economic Planning Unit under Abdul Rahman.

The event showcases the nation’s achievements under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
