One more archery record broken

SANDAKAN: Another SAGA Games record for archery was broken yesterday when Muhammad Luqman Hakim Muhammad Rizal from Papar scored 306 points in recurve 50m men’s category yesterday.

The previous SAGA record was held by Adam Wong from Kota Kinabalu for 293 points.

The silver and bronze medals of the category were won by Tawau when Muhammad Syafiq Bosthamin and Izzan Zaidin scored 278 points and 262 points respective­ly.

For the men’s 50m compound archery, Tawau swept all the medals with Zachary Chong, Ferdinand Yeken Chin and Aizuddin Akmal Mafaralo scoring 324, 315 and 305 points respective­ly.

Papar bag another gold medal for the women’s recurve 50m category with Doreen Dodih (234 points), followed by Nur Wazira Izzati Junaidi from Tawau (225 points) and Norashikee­n Yusuf from Kota Kinabalu (214 points).

Noryfasiki­n Bilau, who won the first gold medal of this year’s SAGA Games in the compound 70m women’s event last Saturday, won another gold medal for Keningau with 300 points in the women’s compound 50m.

Adelyn Crystal Yap Cen Xin from Tawau followed in second place with 298 points while Emily Lo Ching Yee got a bronze medal for Kota Kinabalu in the same category with 280 points.

The results for the men’s and women’s recurve and compound 30m will be announced today (Tuesday) with the prize presentati­on ceremony.
