Boy reported missing in Tawau

-

TAWAU: Members of the public have been urged to be on the lookout for a missing nineyear-old boy and lodge a report or bring the boy to the district police if he is found.

The missing boy, Muhammad Azizan, was reported missing by his parents on Saturday and was last seen at Kampung Saddani, Mile 2, Apas Road where the boy stayed with his parents. He was wearing a blue (Japan) football jersey and black pants.

District police chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the boy’s parents said he had not returned home at Lorong Saddani 6 since 5pm on Saturday.

The boy was still asleep when his 57-year-old father, a taxi driver, left home to work at 10am while his mother and a sibling were at home.

When the mother went to the mosque about 3pm, the boy was left at home watching the television.

On returning home about 4.30pm, the mother noticed the boy was missing, prompting her to conduct a search around the neighbourhood but he was nowhere to be found.

Fadil said the Fire and Rescue Department was informed about the missing boy and the search and rescue effort was still ongoing.

On the possibility of the boy having fallen into the Tawau River, Fadil said no statements of that nature were received as the house was located far away from the river and there were no witnesses who saw the boy going to the river.

Members of the public can also contact the boy’s father Rosli bin Ghani at 011-3366 3015 or brother at 017-664 4259/012-833 7194 if the boy is found or seen.
