Don't vote chaotic opposition parties – Nazri

-

PADANG RENGAS: The people have been urged not to vote in the opposition parties which are proven to be in turmoil, in the coming 14th General Election (GE14).

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said this was clear as the slanders and accusations of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over the past two years against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had not been proven.

On the other hand, the Padang Rengas MP said, during the past two years the prime minister was still strong and continued to enjoy the trust of party members and the people.

"That's the fate of Dr M (Dr Mahathir) for insulting a national leader who brings prosperity to the country, that's the punishment he is facing today.

"Dr M, who accused the prime minister with various allegations, is now in the midst of being vilified by society, including members of the respective parties who issued uncomplimentary statements at him," he told a press conference after launching the Exclusive Information, Explanation and Enlightenment Programme at the Kubang Panjang Village Development and Security Committee Hall here yesterday.

Mohamed Nazri, who is also Tourism and Culture Minister, said three of the opposition coalition parties yesterday suggested that Dr Mahathir be prime minister when Barisan Nasional (BN) had appointed him 37 years ago.

"They are fighting among themselves and if we want to save this country, we must choose BN which has certainty, and brings peace, prosperity and economic wealth to the people," he added.

On GE14, Mohamed Nazri said he expected the general election to be held in April. - Bernama
