Rubin hands over nomination for GE14

TENOM: Tenom Umno Division chief Datuk Rubin Balang has handed over his nomination as a Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kemabong constituen­cy in the 14th general election to the central and state BN leadership.

He said what was important at this time was to continue working with people in need and providing the developmen­t of related facilities.

“The party machinery in every Umno branch is well prepared and ready to face the 14th general election,” he told reporters during the ‘Umno Assist the People 2.0’ program at Datuk Seri Panglima Antanom Hall here yesterday.

Rubin, who is also the Kemabong assemblyma­n, thanked the Umno’s central leadership, especially party president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak for always channellin­g aid and safeguardi­ng the welfare of the people regardless of race and religion in the state.

He hoped that such assistance would continue in order to help the less fortunate.

The program, organized by the Malaysia Umno Welfare Bureau, involved 191 Umno divisions across the country.

At the program, 1,000 villagers and primary one primary school students received daily necessitie­s, cash and school supplies.

Also present were Lenggong MP and Malaysian Umno Welfare Bureau chairman Datuk Shamsul Anuar Haji Nasarah, Tenom MP and Tenom Umno deputy head Datuk Raime Unggi, Sabah Umno Welfare Bureau chairperso­n Datuk Hajah Jainab Ahmad Ayid, secretary general of Umno Welfare Bureau of Malaysia cum Gopeng Umno deputy head, Datuk Hang Tuah Din, Malaysian Umno exco Datuk Marlia Mohd Khalid, Tenom Umno Division vice-chief Juli Malik Hussin and Tenom Umno Youth chief Jamawi Jaafar.
