Parents reminded to register newborn babies on time

-

TAWAU: All parents have been reminded to register their newborn child quickly within the prescribed time without delay so as to avoid problems in the near future.

In making the call, Kalabakan MP Datuk Seri Panglima Ghapur Salleh said most of the late registration of newborn babies was mainly caused by the parents' negligence.

They are used to delay registration of their newborn, he said, adding that late registration of the newborn would cause many problems in future especially in processing their identity card.

“Many students studying in secondary school level do not have identify card and as a result they cannot sit for their examinations.

Thus, he urged parents to register their newborn quickly without delay so that the children could sit for examinations in the future.

His speech was delivered by Sebatik assemblyman Datuk Muis Picho during a program to distribute stationery and fund aid to poor pupils from SK Perdana, SK Tanjung Batu Keramat and SJKC Kuok Ming here yesterday morning.

The program was organised by Kalabakan parliamentary office at SK Perdana hall.

Ghapur also warned all parents not to pamper their children during schooling time. “It is also undeniable that many of the under age young children were enjoying, riding motorcycles everywhere so much so that some of them ignored their studies.

"I hope parents would always monitor their children and guide them accordingly so that they become successful in future,” he said.
