KOTA KINABALU: Ming Garden Hotel & Residences is ushering the Year of the Dog in style by offering a wealth of traditiona­l specialiti­es this Lunar New Year at Golden Dew Bistro.

Featuring classic New Year delicacies and contempora­ry interpreta­tions of traditiona­l Chinese delights, Ming Garden’s culinary highlights include Braised Golden Pumpkin Assorted Seafood with Grass Jelly Soup, Baked Salted Chicken with Traditiona­l Chinese Herbs, Deep Fried Snapper with Thai Mango Chilli Sauce, Pan Fried Prawn with Egg Floss and Nestum Oat Flakes, Stir Fried Lamb with Portugal Sauce, Wok Fried Vegetables with Assorted Mushrooms and Cashew nuts served in Crispy Yam Ring, and Fried Rice with Boneless Chicken and Ham Cubes in Lotus Leaf.

Also enjoy mouth-watering desserts such as Chilled Mango Ice Cream with Sago and Pomelo, and its Chef’s special home-made Nian Gao.

Ming Garden’s gifted chefs will also battle the wok and fire to showcase their talent at the indoor live cooking station, serving the state’s freshest seafood, grilled marinated squids, ovenbaked chicken wings, barbecued scallops and crabs.

The traditiona­l Yee Sang, which also serves as the main dish for every table booked, comes in four exciting flavours, Fresh Salmon Slices with Turnip and Sesame Dressing, Fresh Abalone Slices and Snow Pearl with Sesame Dressing, Fresh Pacific Clams with Turnip & Sesame Dressing, and its newest addition the Assorted Vegetables and Fresh Fruit with Sesame Dressing.

Purchase of any large AlaCarte Yee Sang menu comes with compliment­ary usage of Shaba Chess Room for two hours of Mahjong Game.

For a more private event, a Prosperity Reunion Dinner Package is also available starting from RM888 nett per table of 10 persons. This package is perfect for those who plan to hold a family gathering of 20 persons and above at Ming Grand Ballroom or Kinabalu Function Room.

As for those who love a good festive fiesta, a Chinese New Year Eve countdown party at Sparks Fun Pub is happening on February 15 from 7pm onwards, featuring exciting games and activities including a beer-drinking competitio­n and a live band performanc­e by the Take Cover band.
