More aggressive graft fight
KAJANG: The Malaysian AntiCorruption Commission (MACC) will act more aggressively in terms of enforcement and education to combat corruption to achieve its mission and vision of zero corruption by 2020.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad said MACC would never ever stop strict enforcement against any individual involved in corruption and abuse of power.
He said the MACC would in fact, launch more programmes with the people to initiate a sense of hatred against the crime, which would include two major programmes this month.
“This includes a programme with civil servants which is the same as the Don’t Give, Don’t Kawtim (compromise) and Don’t Settle (3J) campaigns, to be launched simultaneously nationwide from next week,” he told a press conference at a shooting competition programme, together with the media yesterday.
Dzulkifli said other than the programme with civil servants, MACC was also planning the implementation of programmes with women and school students in numerous forms, other than corruption prevention campaigns.
“A women-related programme, in conjunction with this year’s theme of empowering women, is expected to be launched in March. I hope the media will continue to show support by disseminating messages to the people,” he added.
Earlier, 100 media practitioners from 20 local media agencies took part in the MACC-organised shooting competition. The winners received plaques and certificates which were presented by Dzulkifli. - Bernama
