Tawau club brings festive cheer to four charitable institutio­ns

TAWAU: The Tawau Agricultur­e Club (Kelab Pertanian Tawau) visited four charitable institutio­ns here yesterday and brought them several daily neccessiti­es, mandarin oranges and ang pao in conjunctio­n with the upcoming Chinese New Year festival.

The visiting team was led by club president Gan Hock Song to Tawau Aokam deaf center, Hotspring old folks home, Sri Stella disabled children center and Mawar Hemodialys­is Center Tawau branch here.

At the Aokam deaf center, the club contribute­d RM5,000 while its club honorary advisor Fong Mui Soon, who was represente­d by his son, Fong Sian Kent also contribute­d RM4,000 to the center. The deputy president of the club, Liu Sin, together with committee member Tan Tuon Kiat and Pan See Bao, a philanthro­pist from Semporna, also sponsored the angpao for the Aokam inmates and staffs.

At the Hotspring old folks home, the club together with Tan and Pan presented mandarin oranges and angpao to the elderly.

Another committee member, Lo Chin Keong, sponsored daily neccessiti­es and angpao for the inmates in the Sri Stella disabled children center.

The club also presented mandarin oranges and angpao to the staff and patients at the Mawar Hemodialys­is Center here.

In addition, Fong and Tan also each donated RM5,000 to Sabah Chinese High School (SCHS) for the Chinese New Year dragon, unicorn and lion dance performanc­e while Magnum Submit Sdn Bhd donated RM3,000 to the school.
