Ijok land issue: S’gor BN, settlers lodge MACC report next week

-

SEPANG: The Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) will lodge a report on the land issue in the mukim (subdistrict) of Ijok to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) within a period of one week.

Selangor BN information chief, Datuk Dr Mohamed Satim Diman said several settlers would also lodge a report to the MACC as the compensation that they received was not according to the latest market price.

He questioned the action of the Selangor state government in returning the land concerned to the companies Mujur Zaman Sdn Bhd and LBCN Development Sdn Bhd which later sold the land to third parties according to the market price totalling RM1.18 billion, whereas the compensation received by the settlers only amounted to about RM420 million.

"It’s puzzling that the compensation paid to the settlers was based on the old price in the year 2000. If they (the company concerned) could sell (the land) according to the market price, why was the compensation paid to the settlers not according to the market price?

“So it has become a question mark as to what happened to the balance of the proceeds of the land sale which was almost RM800 million?” Mohd Satim posed the question to reporters at the program ‘Jelajah Kasih Negeriku Selangor’ organised by the Selangor BN Information at Ladang Fermanagh, Sungai Pelek here yesterday.
