Wan Junaidi leaves his fate to top PBB leadership

-

KUCHING: The Minister for Natural Resources and Environment Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said he leaves it to the top leadership whether he will be re-nominated to contest in the coming general election.

The Santubong MP said he is a Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) man and will adhere to any decision taken by the party.

“I am a party member. We never rebel. Any decision whether to be re-nominated or not, I will respect.”

Responding to speculation that he is among those to be dropped in the next election, he said: “That doesn't matter, wait until the nomination day, if my name is not in, then it is not in. It doesn't matter.”

He however said that he still receives strong supports from the grassroots in his constituency.

“The support is even stronger than during the 2013 election. It is not about winning but how big the margin is,” he said when asked how confident he is on his chances of retaining the seat if nominated.

Wan Junaidi spoke to reporters after he launched a new multipurpose hall which was named after him at Kampung Goebilt here yesterday.

On the event, he said the hall was built at a cost of almost one million ringgit to enable the villagers to carry out social activities indoor.

At the event, he also launched the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) friendly neighborhood programme in the village.
