Exabytes acquires IWV Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Exabytes Capital Group Sdn Bhd (Exabytes), an eCommerce and Cloud solutions provider in Southeast Asia, announces its 100 per cent acquisition of ICONZ-Webvisions Sdn Bhd (IWV Malaysia).
The sales and purchase agreement to fully acquire IWV Malaysia, a KLbased Enterprise Cloud Provider, was signed on February 9, 2018 for an undisclosed amount. According to Exabytes’ founder and chief executive officer, Chan Kee Siak this acquisition marks the first part of the Exabytes Group’s merger and acquisition roadmap for the year 2018.
“IWV Malaysia is our first acquisition in 2018, as part of the group’s strategy to move up the value chain of being an eCommerce and Cloud provider. We evaluated IWV for the team’s experience and specialized skills; and seeing that it will immediate add onto Exabytes’ aspirations to be a full-fledged enterprise Cloud Services provider, we thus decided on the purchase,” said Chan.
Post-acquisition, IWV Malaysia would be rebranded as Exabytes Enterprise. The subsidiary company will mainly be offering managed enterprise cloud services, targeted at medium to large enterprises in Malaysia.
“Today, the Exabytes Group effectively has 300 dedicated cloudcentric system and application engineers as well as professionally-trained specialists to meet the demand for the managed enterprise cloud services where increasing local demand is anticipated over the next 12 months,” added Chan.
Meanwhile, the Exabytes Group has an existing network of worldclass data centres in Malaysia respectively located in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Cyberjaya as well as in five other Global Locations, in Singapore, Indonesia (Jakarta), Hong Kong, Tokyo and the US.
“I am confident that the addition of IWV Malaysia via this acquisition to form Exabytes Enterprise, will be synergistic to the greater performance of the Exabytes Group – for our shareholders, partners and customers,” Chan commented.
