New business concept to help rural youths
KENINGAU: The Rural Transformation Policy introduced by the government is aimed at helping the rural people increase their income and get out of poverty.
Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) deputy president Arthur Joseph Kurup said the Mobilepreneur @ KKLW Program was a new business concept introduced by the government to help young people, especially youths, who wanted to venture into business.
“The concept of this mobile business does not require high capital and office, but they need to be smart in promoting the service to be recognized by the public.
“This is particularly suitable in the rural areas where shops are very far away and the service is required by consumers,” he said when handing over motorcycles and tools to 30 participants from the Pensiangan parliamentary constituency at Sook Community Hall here recently.
Arthur also thanked the Ministry of Regional and Rural Development (KKLW) for giving the youths in the Pensiangan parliamentary constituency a chance to become mobilepreneur.
He said this proved that the Barisan Nasional (BN) government was very concerned for youths in the rural areas to increase their income.
To ensure that the program was running, he said KKLW would monitor the entrepreneurs for six months. In addition, the motorcycles would be owned by KKLW for three years.
Arthur, who is also the TN50 ambassador, said youths especially in the interior, needed to take advantage of this program.
He said entrepreneurship was an area that could generate income and drive the country’s economy over the next 30 years.
He said in the next 30 years, youths in the rural areas needed to be at par with youths in the urban areas, and they could be icons in their respective fields.
