The one-day carnival featured three teams from Sabah, namely SS90s FC, OMB FC and Sakag Veteran United, as well as three teams from Brunei (PSJD FT, Gaban Strike 18 and Terazza FC).

The teams competed in a single round league format where the top four teams advanced to the semi-finals.

SS90s FC beat Gaban Strike 18 5-0, while OMB beat Terazza 4-3 on penalties in the other semifinal match.

SS90s FC vice president Andrew Laban said there would be participation from more countries in future editions of the tournament including from Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia.

He said as organisers of the tournament, SS90s FC would also find avenues for more friendly matches to be held involving former footballers in the region.

He believes such initiatives could help forge closer rapport and cooperation among participating countries, especially in terms of football development.

Sabah Football Association executive secretary Hasbullah Yahya officiated at the prize presentation and closing ceremony.
