CNY Pesta Angpow dinner at Buhavan Square today

PENAMPANG: A Chinese New Year ‘Pesta Angpow 2018’ dinner, jointly organised by MCA Penampang Division, Donggongon Urban Development Committee (JKDB) and Senior Citizen Penampang Association, will be held at Buhavan Square here today, starting 7pm.

Organising chairman, Hee Kok Hung, who is also the JKDB chairman for Donggongon Town, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman would be attending the dinner.

Guests who will be present at the event also include members of the Penampang BN components, including district officer Ms. Luvita Koisun, Chong Fook Choi, chairman of Senior Citizen Penampang Association, Hee Kwok Hung, Datuk Donald Mojuntin, Penampang BN chairman and Datuk Francis Goh, MCA Penampang chief.

Hee estimated around 2,500 to 3,000 people would be attending the event. There will be 200 tables seated residence of Dongonggon and 1000 standing visitors.

The organising committee has prepared two restaurants to provide buffets for the standing guests to ensure sufficient food for everyone. There will be songs, dance and lion dance performances to entertain the crowd.

Hee thanked Francis and MCA Penampang for their contributions to sponsor the event expenditure for three consecutive years.

The dinner will pay tribute to the seniors over 60 years old by presenting them with ‘angpows’ and not forgetting the children under the age of 12 who will also be receiving ‘angpows’ at the event.

Another highlight for the evening is the lucky draw of 13 cash ‘angpows” to lucky attendees.
