Rhinos counting on fan support in Borneo faceoff

KOTA KINABALU: Team manager Datuk Juil Nuatim is looking forward to more fan support in tonight’s Premier League clash against Sarawak.

“We made a good start (in the first three games) but the journey is still long and certainly more challenging.

“The presence of supporters has grown and we hope it will be even bigger tomorrow and in future matches,” he said yesterday.

When asked to comment on the team’s new formation, Juil said it all fell under the jurisdiction of head coach Jelius Ating.

Jelius is expected to deploy his charges in a 3-5-2 formation despite some very good results from the 4-4-2 that was used in the previous three games.

“The decisions we make are for the good of the team, we have our own roles in the team and I will not interfere with any decision in the jurisdiction of the coach.

“I am also confident and believe that whatever decisions Jelius make is for the good of the team. I support him and I urge all supporters to continue to support Jelius and the team,” he said.

Juil said the atmosphere in the team camp was very good and that everyone had been working hard to continue the mission for full points.

“I hope we can enjoy the game and watch our team come out as winners. Winning three points is the main objective of all our home matches this season.

“We have done so in the two games before this, and we hope to continue the victory,” Juil said.

Two matches at Likas Stadium previously saw Sabah win 4-0 over Terengganu FC II and 2-0 against Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM). Sabah drew 1-1 in the away game with Felcra FC.
