Don't worry about opposition's prediction – Hisham

-

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Umno vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has advised all party members not to worry about the prediction made by the opposition ahead of the 14th General Election (GE14).

Hishammuddin, who is also Defence Minister, said he was not convinced that the prediction would become a reality and the matter had been proven in the last general election.

"It is easy to say before an election and then you move on when it doesn't happened. My advice to especially our party is don't worry about the polls, we defend our states, we make sure that we deliver,” he told reporters after meeting with members of the Penang Umno Divisions here yesterday.

He was asked to comment on the prediction made by a Malaysian think tank Invoke that Pakatan Harapan would wrest five states, namely Kedah, Perak, Johor, Penang and Selangor, in the GE14 following a Malay tsunami.

Meanwhile in ALOR SETAR, Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who is also state Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, described claims that Pakatan Harapan could win in Kedah as a “daydream” because the people were able to evaluate the empty promises made by the opposition.

“The people have felt how it was like to be under the opposition administration so they are not easily deceived. BN is confident of retaining Kedah,” he told reporters after opening the Alor Setar parliamentary constituency's Family Day yesterday. - Bernama
