If were to follow manifesto, Guan Eng can already quit – Najib

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Based on Pakatan Rakyat's manifesto for the 14th general election, Lim Guan Eng can already step down as chief minister of Penang, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“I wish Lim Guan Eng happy retirement ," the Prime Minister wrote on his blog najibrazak.com yesterday.

Pakatan Harapan's manifesto unveiled on Thursday among others proposes to limit the tenure of prime minister, chief ministers and menteris besar to just two terms.

"Why only now making this proposal, why not when their head was prime minister for five and a half terms,” added Najib.

Najib, who is also Umno president and Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, described the opposition pact's manifesto as full of sweet promises but which were in fact lethal poison. – Bernama
