10 women among 12 illegals detained in Tawau

TAWAU: Twelve illegal immigrants were detained by the Immigratio­n Department during operations held at several areas here on Saturday night.

Tawau Immigratio­n Department head Noraini Hj Rasi said the 10 Indonesian­s, including eight women, and two Filipinas, were aged between 18 to 52 years old.

She said the operation was conducted at unnumbered houses at Hj Sundu Road, Taman Damai, workers quarters at Cempaka Road and a sport and recreation premises at Hj Karim Road.

The illegals will be charged under Section 6 (1)(c ) and Section 15 (1)(c) of the Immigratio­n Act 1959/63.
