Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat to extend to Sabah, S’wak

-

BAGAN DATUK: The Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat (People’s Sales) programme being launched by the government will be extended to Sabah and Sarawak, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said, with the implementation of the programme in the two states soon, it would help the people to enjoy cheaper prices, thereby reducing their cost of living.

“Where can you buy a whole chicken at RM5, meat at RM10, a rack of eggs at only RM5...all these can only be purchased under this programme.

“Through the holding of this programme, goods are sold at a reasonable price and as lower as 50 to 70 per cent of the market price,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament, said this after visiting the carnival at the compound of the Bagan Datuk District and Land Office in Rungkup here yesterday.

Also present were Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin and KPDNKK secretary general Datuk Seri Jamil Salleh.

Ahmad Zahid said the implementation of the programme was a manifestation of the government’s concern, which could ease the cost of living of the people in the country.

Meanwhile Hamzah said the price of goods under the programme was the cheapest to date.

“This shows that Datuk Seri (Ahmad Zahid) is really concerned about the people in this constituency,” he added.
