Sibu Central police station ranked as among nation’s best

SIBU: Solid support system and cooperatio­n have earned the central police station here the recognitio­n as being among the best urban police stations in Malaysia.

The Sibu Central station placed first runner-up in the ‘Urban Police Station' category of Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF)'s ‘Police Station Visit Programme Awards' recently.

Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the award was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi – also the Home Affairs Minister – during the event held at the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) College in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur last Saturday.

Stanley attributed such achievemen­t to the support and motivation shown by all those involved.

He also said the placing signified the management of Sarawak police contingent as being among the best in the country.

The certificat­e was accepted by Sibu Central police station head ASP Herman Rakey.
