Madhuri reportedly in talks to play Sridevi’s role in Karan Johar’s period drama

NEW DELHI: Actress Sridevi, who passed away in Dubai on Feb 24, due to accidental drowning, was pretty excited to be a part of Karan Johar's ‘Shiddat'. Her sudden death not only shocked Bollywood but also saddened her fans who were waiting to see her on the silver screen again.

According to a BollywoodL­ife report, Madhuri Dixit (pictured above) is likely to replace Sridevi in this cross-border period drama. The makers are in talks with Aaja Nachle actress to play Sridevi's role. Since Madhuri is a close friend of Karan Johar, she feels it'll be her way to pay a memorable tribute to Sridevi, if she becomes the part of this project.

The film features a stellar ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. It is to be helmed by Abhishek Varman of ‘2 States' fame and also marks the fourth collaborat­ion of Varun and Alia. If Madhuri Dixit comes on board, it would be interestin­g to see her and Sanjay Dutt share a screen space after a long period.
