Mary sponsors World Speech Day in Tawau

TAWAU: Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Mary Yap Kain Ching has sponsored the district level World Speech Day for the third consecutive year.

She congratulated Distinguised Toastmaster (DTM) Lee Chye Ewe and his young team of committee members for organizing the event.

“How time flies and it was just like yesterday that the World Speech Day 2017 had taken place.

“The annual World Speech Day opens up Tawau to the world. We celebrate our speakers from all walks of life and their speeches offer an inspiring look at the art of speaking,” said Mary.

She wished all the participants a meaningful time in listening to the variety of speeches to be delivered.

The Tawau member of parliament recently met up with the organizing committee to hand over the sponsorship. She took the opportunity to advise and encourage them to give their best in making the event a success.

The World Speech Day Malaysia 2018 will be held on March 15 at Lecture Hall 1, Institute of Science and Management here at 7pm. More than 30 speakers of all ages have signed up to speak for a better world.

Admission is free and a special door gift will be given to the first 100 members of the audience.
