Leaders’ solidarity makes Labuan BN stronghold — Hisham

LABUAN: The tolerance and ‘esprit de corps’ among the Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties in the dutyfree island here have made Labuan a BN stronghold, said UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

He said the willingness of the BN leaders to put aside their differences and put the party above their interests would enable BN to win in the coming 14th General Election (GE14).

“Nothing is important except the unity among the BN component parties here, and gratefully, all the component parties are still under the BN umbrella from early days until today,” he said after launching the Labuan BN election machinery here yesterday.

Hishammuddin, who is also Defence Minister, said the Labuan BN must not allow irresponsible parties to provoke leaders aimed to disunite the party leadership.

He also reminded the BN machinery to work closely to ensure BN’s majority votes in the GE would increase for the smooth implementation of development plans.

“We must get close to the members in all branches and voters so as they are wellinformed on BN struggles,” he added.
