Career pathway consultation for school leavers in Sandakan
SANDAKAN: With last year’s SPM result expected to be announced anytime this week, students who took the exam would be looking forward to attend career pathway guidance sessions to better understand the courses to be pursued and some tips on the current industry needs.
With this in mind, MID Sabah Incorporated Sdn Bhd (a government-linked company under the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development) conducted a session of ‘Your Career Pathway Consultation’ at the Jobs & You Resource Centre on Saturday.
During the session, Kee, the general manager of MID Sabah Incorporated Sdn Bhd shared the latest information on the industry with the SPM holders currently waiting for their result. Career guidance and a motivation talk were also incorporated into the session to enhance the students’ mindset in choosing their career pathway.
In conjunction with the latest release result of the STPM and the coming release of the SPM result, the centre will conduct another session of ‘Your Career Pathway Consultation’ at the Jobs & You Resource Centre on March 16 from 9am to 3pm.
MID Sabah Incorporated Sdn Bhd aims to bring more helpful information to the centre to share with the Sandakan community.
The centre is located in Block 47, 2nd Floor, Lot 3C & 3D, Bangunan SINUKA, Jalan Leila, 90000 Sandakan.
It is a place to share Sabah industry information with the students and general public, hopefully to guide the young generation on building up their career pathway.
The centre always welcomes the participation of industry players to come and share their knowledge with the community in the centre. Hence, it will create a sharing platform for the employers and employees to understand each other for creating a better mutual understanding in the industry world.
Jobs & You Resource Centre started last year, and held a few significant events in the centre itself. There were seminars and talks given by well-known companies and agencies such as Petronas, Shell and Yayasan Sabah, which attracted more than 300 participants.
There were also visitors, especially the Sandakan students who visited the centre to gather career information, latest industry information and also ask for career guidance.
