Fair to help parents decide on international schools for children

-

KOTA KINABALU: There are over 140 international schools in Malaysia today and this number is predicted to increase over the next few years.

Originally established to provide education to expatriate children, international schools have now become a viable option for parents to consider for their children. Each international school has unique offerings in terms of curricula, fees, facilities and extracurricular activities.

There are also many international schools with boarding facilities in Malaysia. A boarding school education teaches students how to be independent, responsible and disciplined.

At boarding schools, students have the opportunity to join a variety of extracurricular activities and events as well as make lifelong friendships. Boarding schools have excellent facilities and provide a conducive learning environment for their students.

As there are so many international school options available, parents are advised to do as much research as possible before deciding on a school for their child. The Private & International School Fair is the ideal event for parents to connect with leading international schools from all over Malaysia. Parents have the opportunity to speak to school representatives and gather all the necessary information they need on the spot.

Mint Communications launched the Private & International School Fair in 2012 and has organised a series of successful fairs in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor since then. The fairs have grown in terms of number of exhibitors and visitors every year. In 2017, the fairs were launched in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

The 2nd Private & International School Fair in Kuching will be held on April 21 at Pullman Hotel, Kuching, while the fair in Kota Kinabalu will be held on April 22 at Sutera Harbour Resort, Kota Kinabalu.

Furthermore, parents who are interested in boarding schools can visit the Prince of Wales Island International School, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar and Epsom College in Malaysia.
