S'wak BN can achieve 29 seats target — Shahrizat

-

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) is capable of achieving the target of winning 29 parliamentary seats in the 14th General Election (GE14).

BN Wanita chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said the confidence stemmed from the detailed preparations that had been carried out besides the assistance from the state wanita movement.

"As a leader, I can say the Sarawak BN Wanita machinery is the most established, a team that has long been set up by Tan Sri Empiang Jabu (former Sarawak BN chief) and now being continued by Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah (Sarawak BN Wanita chief).

“Looking at this solid team, we can win not only 29 seats maybe more, 30 or 31 seats. The performance at the last state election is enough to illustrate the preparedness of the Sarawak BN Wanita,” she said.

She was speaking at the launch of the Sarawak BN Wanita GE14 machinery at the Kota Samarahan Civic Centre here yesterday.

The event was officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also Sarawak BN chairman.

Also present were Fatimah, Deputy Ministers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing and senior Sarawak BN component party leaders.

Shahrizat said during the final phase of the GE14, the Wanita members were reminded to take care of their health and continue working tirelessly.

"Take care during this period because health is important. Also don't get bored or give up after years working hard for GE14, it's time for us to reap the results,” she said.
