Masing says it again: Nyallau and Entulu not included in list

-

KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing says it again - Lubok Antu incumbent Datuk William Nyallau and Selangau incumbent Datuk Joseph Entulu's names were not submitted to the top BN leadership to defend their respective seats in the upcoming election.

For Lubok Antu, PRS has submitted only one name but he refused to reveal his identity except to say that he is a high-ranking government servant.

“I'm sorry I can't reveal his name to you at this moment as he is still a government servant. We will leave it to either the PM or CM to make the announcement.

“That said, our job in the party has been completed as we have submitted only one name for each of our six constituencies,” Masing said.

Speculation is rife that PRS' nominee for Lubok Antu is Robert Pasang Alam, 51, who is the director of Prosecution in Sabah. As for Selangau, it will be a female lawyer Rita Imsul.

Masing reiterated that his party's practice has always been sending only one potential candidate for each seat to prevent intense lobbying if there were more than one person.

“This is one of ways to prevent intense lobbying which is unhealthy. In the event our nominees are not accepted by the top BN leadership for whatever reasons, we will submit another one to replace that particular nominee.”

Masing, who is also Minister of Infrastructure Development and Transportation, insisted that PRS would be the best custodian of their own seats, and the choice of candidate was done in the best interest of the BN.

“In the last two general elections we submitted only one name per constituency because we knew we were choosing the right candidates. If we submit more than one, then it shows that we are unsure. As the party president, if I were not sure then who else is sure?” he said.
