Body of woman found under container house

-

JOHOR BAHRU: The body of a woman, believed to be an owner of a company selling lorries, was found in a hole under a container house which served as home for her workers at Jalan Sri Purnama, Kampung Sri Purnama on Friday.

Johor Bahru Selatan district police chief ACP Shahurinain Jais said the body of Goh Geok Leng, 43, was discovered at 9.30 pm by one of her workers.

“She was discovered missing by one of her workers about 7.30 pm yesterday after the worker failed to find her at her work place. The woman was last seen at about 2 pm.

“(However,) all her belongings were still in the office. A recording of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera (at the premises) showed the woman going behind the office before she disappeared,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Shahurinain said the worker lodged a police report, suspecting something amiss, after finding the victim’s shoes when the worker went to search for the woman.

He said police had detained two Myanmar men, aged 20 and 39, who are also the victim’s employees, to facilitate investigation.

“We are still closing in on another suspect who is still at large,” he said.

Shahurinain said the body was taken to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for post mortem.

The two men are in remand until Friday to facilitate investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, he said. - Bernama
