Build up your future with mechanical engineering

-

MECHANICAL engineering is one of the broadest and oldest branches of engineering.

A mechanical engineer’s expertise will always be required in any project related to any field of engineering. They are involved in the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, control, operation, and maintenance of mechanical components in any system that has a moving part.

Graduates of mechanical engineering will have a wide array of career paths to choose from due to the extensive nature of the field.

Mechanical engineers are in high demand in numerous industries. Many mechanical engineers opt for industries such as automotive, energy, robotics, biomedical, product designing, manufacturing, CAD/CAM, operation and quality control, reverse engineering, mechanical design, and aerospace.

First City UC’s Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours programme includes rubber related topics in its curriculum.

It makes the programme unique and relevant as Malaysia’s rubber technology industry is one of 12 National Key Economic Area sectors identified by the government.

It is one of the promoted industries to help Malaysia reach high-income status. With the growing economy, Malaysia needs at least 200,000 engineers by 2020 in order to attain the status of a developed nation.

To date, there are only 120,000 registered engineers with Board of Engineers Malaysia. It is also one of the highest paying professions in Malaysia according to Free Malaysia Today (FMT), an online news portal.
